The index opened strong above 7411 and after an initial dip went up to touch the highs of the day at 7457, profit booking saw the index close lower at 7404.00, gain of 42.20 points. The broader market though was negative with 585 advances to 968 declines. The range stays at 7200-7600.
- Call option 7400-7700 added huge 23.02 lacs OI with short covering seen at 7300 and below strike prices.
- Put option 7400-6800 added 14.82 lacs OI with short covering seen at 7500 and above strike prices.
- Nifty Open Interest is at 1,89,09,600 down by 5,53,875, with increase in price, most probably huge short covering.
- Bank Nifty Open Interest is at 25,74,990 up by 27,930, with increase in price, most probably small long build-up.
- FII’s bought 4.18 lacs Futures, which includes net 9731 contracts long build-up and 6992 contracts short covering, with increase in net OI by 2739 contracts, includes 38230 longs to 21507 shorts for the day.
- FII’s Index future open contract as on date is 87848 Longs to 122566 Shorts, Net (-)34718 up by 16723 contracts.
- Initial support now at 7400, with OI of 43.49 lacs and below that at 7300 with OI of 37.51 lacs.
- Initial resistance at 7500, with OI of 44.12 lacs and above that at 7500 with highest OI of 54.21 lacs.
- Day Range as per Option Table is 7327 - 7489 and as per VIX is 7333 - 7475 with 7409 as the Pivot.
