Option Open Interest for 09-06-2012

Negative global cues and profit booking saw the Nifty open weak and hovering below the psychological level of 5300 for the entire session. Overall the sentiment remained weak with market participants not looking very enthusiastic about the index moving above 5350-5400 in the recent future. Nifty ultimately closed at 5275.15, a loss of 41.80 points, but the Option Table saw huge addition at 5300-5400CE levels.
  • Call option 5200-5500 added 23.7 lacs huge amount of OI, with profit booking seen at 5600 and above levels.
  • Put Option 5200-5100 added 2.6 lacs huge amount of OI, with huge liquidation seen at 5300 and above levels.
  • Highest accumulation on Call option 5400 at 74.7 lacs & 5300 at 65.2 lacs whereas Put option 5000 at 74 lacs & 5200 at 65.4 lacs.
  • Nifty Open Interest is at 2,28,10,500 down by 5,96,600 with decrease in price, most probably long liquidation.
  • Bank Nifty Open Interest is at 28,36,725 down by 69,700 with decrease in price, most probably long liquidation.
  • FII’s bought 1.02 lacs Futures, most probably short covering, as their OI also decreased by 29.7 thousand, and their average price per contract comes to around 5114.
  • FII’s future open contract as on date is 5.39 lacs.
  • PCR Open Interest (Volume) has just gone below 1.5 to 1.419, due to huge addition at 5300CE.
  • Support is at 5200 with huge OI of 65.4 lacs and below that at 5100 and 5000, having OI above 74 lacs.
  • Resistance at 5300, with huge addition today of 12.9 lacs and above that at 5400 with highest OI in Option Table at 74.7 lacs.
  • Range as per Option Table is 5226 -5329 and as per VIX is 5223 - 5327 with 5280 as the Pivot.
